Two good strikes within a space of 12 minutes from Utibe Arit gave Dakaada FC of Uyo a 2-1 victory over highly rated Enyimba FC. in Uyo. In the match which was played at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, in the ongoing Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) week 8, Dakaada FC refused to bow to Enyimba as they did to Kano Pillars which ended in a 1-2 loss to the giant killers Wednesday in Uyo Although critics had given the match to Enyimba on paper, the Dakkada boys took full control of the situation in the midfield marshalled by Captain Aniekan Ekpe and Duke Osimanga while the duo of Isaac George and Olufemi Ajayi's incursions in the 18-yard box of the People's Elephant were repelled by the host team. Enyimba resorted to their experience in the league by absorbing all the pressure and forced Dakkada to a goalless situation in the first 45 minutes The second half commenced with Dakkada fighting hard to get a curtain raiser only to be frustrated by the faulty decisions of the centre referee. Enyimba's counter attack approach to the game puts Dakkada defence on two dangerous situations that almost spelled doom but not for the quick responses of goalkeeper Edafe. When it appeared that both sides might settle for a draw, coach Caleb Esu's substitution of Archibong Oso for Utibe Arit in the 66th minute paid well for Dakkada as Arit capitalized on the poor ball handling by Enyimba's goalkeeper, Femi Kayode, to slot the ball in for the curtain raiser. Enyimba came all out against the home team and with the introduction of Cyril Olisema who exerted much pressure on Dakkada's defence which failed to close mark Mbaoma who got an equaliser for the People's Elephant in the 80th minutes. Dakkada who fought like wounded lions, stepped up the game and with quick passes in the midfield, Moses Effiong connected Arit who successfully displaced Enyimba's defender and netted the second goal for Dakkada in the 87th minute as the match ended 2-1 in favour of Dakkada. In his post-match chat. Esu said he has a good team mixed of youths with experience and having being together for a while, played with cohesion. Esu thanked God for the victory over Enyimba and assured that in Katsina today, they will attempt to get some points. Enyimba coach said it was a hard and well deserved victory for Dakkada against his side. Dakkada occupies the second position on the log with 15 points while Plateau United tops with 17 points.
