Dominion Cathedral of Rapture Trust Gospel Ministries International, Ikot Akpan Nkuk in Ukanafun Local Government Area, was agog on Sunday, November 17, 2019 when Gracious Ineme Ikut and Elder Eno Ezekiel Festus were joined together in holy matrimony. The pomp and pageantry that greeted the wedding ceremony, did not only define the specialty of it, but was a clear pointer to why the couple, who were advanced in age, was extremely excited.
Guest, who came from all walks of life could not hold their emotions. They all shared in the joy of the moment as they danced and rejoiced with the celebrators. The officiating minister and founder of Rapture Trust Gospel Ministries International, Bishop Moswill Umoh, who spoke on the glory and benefit of being patient, took his text from II Corinthians 5:7.
Umoh gave a brief history of both couple and used them as example of waiting patiently on God for expected blessings, adding that God was faithful to all who hold on to Him irrespective of their ugly situation. While happing on the need to endure every adverse condition in oneself as well as learn to continue trusting God, Umoh noted that all things in life will fail but Jesus will never fail those who put their trust in Him.
He eulogized the couple for their strong faith in God, adding that it was the more reason God decided to honour them in their wedding day. According to him, "they waited and did not messed-up their faith. This is an encouragement to all, that "if God did it for them, He will also do it to others
The man of God encouraged those who are expecting something from God to be patient and assured that the Almighty will surely visit them. He admonished the couple and would-be couple to pattern their marriage according to the will of God in order to enjoy every moment of it.
Marriage, he said, was meant for partnership, procreation and to aid in the fulfilment of God's purpose in one's life, adding that sex was a tiny part of the institution. Umoh urged those who were yet to find their own life partner to be patient and avoid moving ahead of God through making their choices outside the will of God.
The bride, who until the marriage was a member of Redemption Ministries, Gracious Ineme Ikut, expressed joy and appreciation to God for making the day a reality. Ikut, who is in her 40s, urged those waiting on God for a life partner not to lose hope but keep on trusting God for a miracle in their lives.
The groom, Elder Eno Ezekiel Festus, who is of the Rapture Trust Gospel Ministries International, said he was very much happy to get married and expressed the belief that God will keep them together in the marriage. Festus, who is in his 70s, said he lost his wife 30 years ago and thanked God for making it possible for him to marry again after waiting for a long time and for the success of the wedding, while appreciating the church for their corporation, prayers, financial support and otherwise.
The wedding had in attendance the coordinator of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Ukanafun chapter, Rev Victor Philip, who admonished the couple to acknowledge God in their family and love as well as submit to each other.
