God's love brings true peace in marriage. Peace we sought, and peace have we found. These were the words contained in the wedding toast for the solemnization of the holy matrimony between former Miss Edikan Effiong Thompson and Dr Ubong Utioh Abia, as they were joined together with a charge on the theme: The Purpose and Expectation of Christian Marriage.
The solemnization which took place at The Apostolic Church, Jubilee District Headquarters, 29 Jubilee School Lane, Uyo, was witnessed by family members, colleagues, friends and well-wishers of the couple.
In his sermon, Pastor John Etim Nsubo spent time to lecture the couple on the purpose and expectation of Christian marriage, He said the couple should practise the purpose and expectation of Christian marriage.
Drawing his text from Proverbs 18:22, Nsubo observed that he who finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favour from the Lord.
The servant of God further explained that couples should make their marriage to the expectation they want.
The clergyman listed the expectations of Christian marriage to include: marriage is a companionship, it is designed by God, it was ordained for preservation and purity.
Pastor Nsubo summarized his sermon with words of advice to the couple from Psalms 128:1-6, the blessing of those who fear the Lord, urging that they must maintain the purpose and expectation of Christian marriage in order to have a blissful marriage.
High point of the occasion was the exchange of marriage vows and ring, signing of the certificate, choir renditions and bridal Dance.
In their testimony, Dr and Mrs Ubong Utioh were grateful to God for making their day successful, and thanked their parents, family members, friends, colleagues, and the church for honouring their invitation and prayed for God's to bless them abundantly.
