The state commissioner for finance, Mr Linus Nkan, has advocated for continuous support to the governor especially as the government enters the fast lane of completion agenda.
The commissioner made the advocacy during his appreciation meeting with his kinsmen at his country home, Ikot Ekpa Edung, Ibesikpo Asutan recently.
He noted that the governor's victory at the poll as well as through the tribunal to the Supreme Court is an indication of divine arrangement of the Udom's project, adding that the completion agenda is divinely directed for greater good of Akwa Ibom people.
The finance boss maintained that the Governor had since demonstrated his pedigree in leadership and administration adding that the Governor is focused and determined to transform the state from a civil service centered to an industrial hub.
He emphasized that the numerous state projects as well as the investments attracted to the state such as the syringe, flour mill, Blue Sea Science Park and others are indicative of the caliber of leadership in the state.
According to him, at a time like this; all that the Governor needs is the support and prayers of Akwa Ibom people to achieve more for the betterment of the entire state, especially the youths who he said own the future.
He urged the people of Ibesikpo Asutan and the State in general to embrace peace and ensure peace in their domains adding that no state can record meaning progress in an atmosphere of rancor and crisis.
Mr Nkan, who is a Fellow, Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and an associate member of Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (ACITN), stressed that peace is a prerequisite for investment adding that no investor would want to invest his resources in a state where there is insecurity.
It would be recalled that the finance commissioner had earlier, at the Ibibio Converge, reception of Ibibio maiden edition of unity cup teams, conferment of titles/awards presentation to eminent personalities held recently at Asan Ibibio, Ikot Oku Ikono, Uyo, called for greater peace and unity among the Ibibios within and outside the state as, according to him; unity is the foundation of every success among a people.
The commissioner reiterated that Akwa Ibom is a state named after God, hence, the peace and love of Christ should be allowed to prevail in all activities of the state.
