Political office-holders in Onna, Eket extraction and other stakeholders in the state have described the appointment of Akparawa Ephraim Inyang-Eyen as chief of staff to Gov Udom Emmanuel as a step in the right directi on. The political office-holders which include the member for Eket/Onna Federal Constituency, Mr Pat Ifon; member for Eket in the Akwa Ibom House of Assembly, Mr David Lawrence; as well as Senator Effiong Bob posited that the appointment is a welcome development and well-deserved one looking at the pedigree capacity of the appointee, and above all, his positive contributions towards the development of the state and her citizenry. It would be recalled that on Friday, June 19, 2020, the commissioner for information and strategy, Sir Charles Udoh, briefing Government House reporters after the State Executive Council meeting presided over by Gov Udom Emmanuel at Government House, Uyo, announced the appointment of Akparawa Ephraim InyangEyen as chief of staff to Gov Udom Emmanuel, adding that the appointment takes immediate effect even as Inyang-Eyen still supervises the Works Ministry until a substantial and suitable person is appointed to man the affairs of the ministry. The members who made a stop-over weekend at the appointee's hometown in Onna with strict adherence to the NCDC COVID-19 preventive guidelines which include physical and social distancing, use of face mask, washing of hands with soap and running water and the use of alcoholicbased hand sanitizer, said they came to congratulate the appointee on his well-deserved appointment, noting that the brief and unceremonial visit was symbolic and a mark of solidarity to a man who has made them proud in all ramifications. They explained further that the appointment would not have come in a better time than now as Akparawa InyangEyen is a firm partner in the development of Akwa Ibom State, observing that the appointee has not been found wanting in any assignment given him as he will spare his sleep to achieve results.
