The paramount ruler of Eastern Obolo Local Government has applauded Governor Udom Emmanuel for supporting the traditional institution in the state towards ensuring peace and tranquility in the rural areas. Edidem Ubong John Harry Etetor made the commendation at Obolo Hall during the inauguration of new members into Eastern Obolo Traditional Rulers' Council. The paramount ruler said the unprecedented synergy and wise decision taken by Governor Emmanuel towards the traditional rulers' institution in the state has enhanced as well as strengthened the royal fathers in carrying out their affairs without hindrance. One of these, he said, is the approval given for the reconstitution and inauguration of Eastern Obolo Traditional Rulers Council. The royal father observed with satisfaction that Gov Emmanuel's commitment to the yearning of the people has boosted the morale of the people and that of the traditional institution towards his administration. He assured him of his people's maximum support and loyalty towards the actualization of his Completion Agenda, which he noted are well articulated programmes and policies. Edidem Etetor, who remains the president-in-council of Eastern Obolo Traditional Rulers' Council, said he was excited with various transformation strategies adopted by Gov Emmanuel which have elevated the status of the state both economically and socially, adding that he should maintain the tempo for the betterment of the people. The Eastern Obolo monarch who used the opportunity to appeal to the chairman of Eastern Obolo Local Government to look inwardly and improve upon the welfare of the traditional fathers in the area, said he was optimistic that such attention will enhance to alleviate some bottleneck encountered by the royal fathers and their institution. While congratulating the newly inaugurated members for being appointed into Eastern Obolo Traditional Rulers' Council, Edidem described them as traditional fathers of proven integrity and implored them to bring their wealth of experience to bear. Earlier in her remark, the chairman of Eastern Obolo Local Government, Lady Victoria Talick, said she was overwhelmed with joy for the approval to reconstitute and inaugurate the Eastern Obolo Traditional Rulers' Council by Gov Emmanuel, hence all hands should be on desk to enable them succeed. The chairman, who was represented by the vice chairman of Eastern Obolo, Mr Nte Henry, assured that her administration would continue to cement their relationship with royal fathers to enable them carry out their statutory responsibilities, adding that their welfare would remain a priority of the council. She congratulated the newly inaugurated TRC members and wished them well throughout their tenure. In an enlightenment remark, the secretary of Eastern Obolo Traditional Rulers' Council, Pastor Godwin Usen, called on the people of Eastern Obolo to sink their differences and join hands in the formulation of better ideas that would enhance and reposition the area. Speaking on behalf of the newly inaugurated members of the TCR clan head-elect of Iko Town, Etebom Isaiah Thomas Okonko, expressed gratitude to Governor Emmanuel for the approval given for them to be inaugurated into Eastern Obolo TRC. Etebom Okonko, who promised not to deviate from the traditional rulers norms and regulations, assured that they would not relent, rather would work assiduously to the success of TRC and called for support, cooperation and understanding among the people for overall success. Those inaugurated were the clan head-elect of Iko Town, Etebom Isaiah Thomas Okonko, Chief Emmanuel Okworo, Chief Benjamin Adolphus Pepple, Chief Enoch S. Tiligbo, Chief Job James Job as well as Chief Saturday Mark Asuyork.
