The chairman of Onna Chambers of Family Heads has congratulated Governor Udom Emmanuel for the recently commissioned Ikot Ebekpo-Ikot Ebidang Road project.
The chairman made his feelings known while speaking with newsmen at the project commissioning site.
Obom Udofot Solomon Ekpo submitted that with the commissioning of the road, better things were about to spring forth.
Ekpo, however, asked that the gesture be extended to his Ikot Akpatek community, adding that Ikot Ebidang community shares same shoreline with Ikot Akpatek.
The chambers' chairman stressed that before now, Ikot Ebekpo-Ikot Ebidang Road was impassable and inaccessible.
Chairman of Ikot Ebidang Village Council, Chief Tim Akpan Sunday, in his submission, pointed out that the road before the advent of Udom Emmanuel-led government was in a sordid state.
He stressed that while he was young, movement to the newly commissioned jetty was not easy even as he said that he was more than delighted with the development.
Chief Bob Bob Akpan, Chief Samuel Eshiet Dan and Chief Ekanem Silas in their separate speeches acknowledged the governor for the job well-done.
They expressed the confidence that the development was a new beginning in the lives of the people of the area, noting that the governor had done what the past administrations in state could not do, saying they were grateful to God for Mr Udom Gabriel Emmanuel.
