Info Comm Showers Staff With Commendations, Gift Items

As part of his ongoing innovations in the Akwa Ibom Ministry of Information and Strategy, the commissioner has showered workers in the ministry with commendations and different gift items to boost their morale for enhanced productivity. Comrade Ini Ememobong made the presentations Wednesday during the general meeting with staff of the ministry at Watbridge Hotel, IBB Way, Uyo.

 Ememobong, who said his plan was to have monthly meetings with all the staff of the ministry for work appraisal, used the occasion to commend different groups of workers for their commitment and dedication to duties including: the plant operator and two security staff, Impact magazine team, Update Akwa Ibom Radio crew, staff of the office of the commissioner and directors in the ministry.

 He disclosed that the ministry was commencing the publication of Impact Monthly and would focus on the different sectors of the Gov Udom Emmanuel development blueprint, starting from industrialization, urging all the information officers to make inputs into the publication, which, he said, was a pride of the state and widely read by many across the country.

 He appreciated the staff for attending the meeting which coincided with the one-day seminar tagged: Staff Capacity Development, reiterating that the seminar was organized to sharpen their skills for effective work delivery. The information boss frowned at staff who attended the event behind schedule and rewarded those who were punctual with branded pens which has the inscription: "Governor Udom Emmanuel's Completion Agenda. Mr Inyang Jameson, lauded the commissioner for organizing the seminar cum general meeting for the workers, saying that the wind of change has started blowing in the ministry. Jameson stated that the general meeting was delayed due to the 30 percent work attendance directive of governments occasioned by the COVID-19 pandemic, and urged all the staff to cooperate with the commissioner for effective delivery on the mandate of the ministry and for more benefits in terms of trainings and other programmes, with the availability of funds at the ministry's disposal. Highlights of the meeting were: the setting up of committees including: tenders board, IPSAS accrual committee, advertisement sourcing teams as well as the cutting of cake by October born staff the ministry and the presentation of birthday cards and a token of N5000 each to the celebrating staff.
