Live A Life Of Gratitude - Cleric

Christians and believers world over have been charged to live a life of gratitude to God at all times. The senior pastor in charge of The Chosen Christian Life Centre, Ikot Obio Enang, Namoku Orok, stated this Sunday during the year 2020 thanksgiving service of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism (MCT) Staff Club. Speaking on the topic, Enter Into His Gate With Thanksgiving, drawn from Psalms 100:4; 103:8; Acts 14:17, Revelation 19 and Ephesians 2:3- 4, the cleric informed that God desires and loves thanksgiving and appreciation.

"Praise and thanksgiving is the only offering or meal God cannot resist. It is a permit into the presence of God. Our God is everywhere and there is an attitude you must have in order to enter into His presence, which is a grateful heart. He furthered that a gate is a moveable barrier usually placed to restrict entry to a person. "Not everybody can stand or enter into the presence of God because with the gate, there is a restriction. "Why we must enter into God's presence with thanksgiving is because God is good and created us in His own image. One of the ways to show that the Lord is good is to offer Him praise and show Him gratitude. God is so good and a stronghold in the day of trouble. He guarantees us all physical blessings, provisions and benefits. "God is merciful, which is His attribute. We have to enter His gate with thanksgiving because God is merciful. He is plenteous in mercy and slow to anger, which is why we can have access into His presence. Beloved, one of the reasons we have to show gratitude to God is because He is merciful towards all. Not by rules of righteousness but according to His mercies, He saved us, he stated.

He questioned, "Can you recall when you applied for the job? How many people applied for the same job with you or were you the only person? Among thousands, God found you fit, you are not wrong to come here for thanksgiving, you might not have been the best but God's mercies found you. "Do not be confused or discouraged from living a life of gratitude to God. Thanksgiving is what God desires and demands from us. You can lean on His promises, He will not fail or abandon you. Parents and guardians make promises and fail but God will never fail. His promises stand forever. If God has made a promise to you, know that it will come to pass. Referring to the scriptures, he recalled how Jesus healed 10 lepers but one came back to thank Him, saying, "This shows that the leper recognized the fact that he would not have been healed without Jesus. That is why he went back to thank Him and God perfected his healing. Appreciating God for the gift of life and sustenance on behalf of the group, the president of the association, Comrade Joyce Ambrose, informed that thanksgiving is an annual event of the group. "Even in the midst of turbulence, lack and stress, God has sustained us and our families all through the year, hence we have come with a heart of gratitude to appreciate Him for everything, she said. Prayers were offered for the group by the church and more grace for the coming years. Earlier, as part of events lined up for the year by the MCT staff club on Saturday, November 14, 2020, the group visited the distinguished children at Child's Rights Rehabilitation Network (CRARN) Centre at Ikot AfahaIdung Ukpa, Eket Local Government. Receiving the group, Mr Sam Itauma, the director of the foundation, appreciated the leadership of the association for identifying with the children and reminding them that they were part of the society. "We thank you for coming around to identify with the children and putting smiles on their faces, it goes a long way to encourage and motivate them as part of the society. Elizabeth Sam who stood in for the management of the foundation prayed God to bless members of the MCT as they journey in life. In her vote of thanks, Ima Wilson, one of the caregivers, appreciated the group on behalf of the children for their words of encouragement and support and prayed God to bless members of the group.
