2021 Budget Defence: No MDA Is Bigger Than AKHA- Ududoh

The chairman of the Akwa Ibom House of Assembly Committee on Finance and Appropriations has frowned at the recalcitrant attitudes of some heads of ministries, departments and agencies (MDA's) of the Akwa Ibom State government who failed to appear before the committee to defend their 2021 budget proposals. Mr Uduak Ududoh handed down the condemnation at the conclusion of the 2021 budget defense exercise which commenced on Monday, November 9, 2020. While reading the riot act, Ududoh, who is the member for Ikot Abasi/ Eastern Obolo State Constituency, noted that some heads of MDAs sent in their valid excuses, while some vehemently refused doing so, adding that no MDA was bigger than the Akwa Ibom House of Assembly, especially in the budget defense exercise which he described as very important. He maintained that the committee will not tolerate a situation where any MDA fails to appear without excuse to honour the invitation of the budget defense. The lawmaker reiterated that any MDA which did not appear before the committee for the exercise will have itself to blame while facing any penalty and as such no allocation for the MDA.
