Be Grateful To God Whenever You Come To His Presence- Clergyman

Sunday, December 13, 2020 was a happy moment for the family of Officer and Mrs Ubong Akpan when they decided to go to church for thanksgiving and blessing of their marriage after the traditional/weddintg ceremony at Vinpy Event Centre on Friday. The church, Garden of Miracle Chapel, Uyo, wore a different atmosphere while there were some alteration in the order of service to depict the event of the day. However, the solemnity of the church setting was maintained even as the aura of praise and worship saturated the auditorium in respect to the Almighty God who made it possible for the couple to come together in marriage. Worshippers and well wishers trooped the church to celebrate and rejoice with the celebrators. The faces of those in the congregation were cheerful as joy and excitement were boldly written all over them. The procession that ushered in the couple to the church thrilled the congregation. Their regalia and marching steps added colour to the event as it was greeted with laud ovation. Preaching on the topic: Testimony, the officiating minister, Apostle Gideon Akpan, who read from Psalm 104:1; 100:4; 95:2, stressed the importance of thanksgiving in a believer's life. Akpan admonished Christians to be grateful to God whenever they come to His presence, saying praises attract God's favour and blessings to those who cultivate the habit. He encouraged them to put their trust in God who he said was able to perform unimaginable miracles in people's lives. While stressing that everyone has a set time of testimony in their lives, the clergyman who urged them not to relent in keeping hope alive, assured them of the manifestation of God's miracles. He lauded the couple for deeming it fit to come before God in thanksgiving to seek His divine blessing as they begin the journey of marriage and prayed God to bless their union. On their part, the couple expressed joy for the day and thanked all who came to rejoice with them. The marriage, they said, was a dream come true, and prayed God to see them through as they begin a new life together. The immediate-past chairman of Ikono Local Government, Mr Itoro Culumba, who witnessed the traditional marriage and wedding at Vinpy Event Centre congratulated the groom and welcomed him into the league of responsible men. Culumba thanked God for the fruit of the marriage and prayed for God's blessing and protection upon the family. The mother of the bride, Mrs Grace Moses, prayed God to bless the couple, while admonishing them to toe the path of God to have a successful marriage. High point of the service was the cutting of cake, parade and crossing of Sword by Ex-cadet Officers of the Maritime Academy, Oron.
