The Lagos Chapter of
Akwa Ibom Grassroots Movement For
Good Governance (AKGRAMOV) has called on
Akwa Ibom indigenes and
Nigerians to always endeavour to hold those in
leadership positions accountable for their services
to ensure good governance.
The group made the call
through the co-ordinator,
Dr. Godwin Akpan, at the New Year re-inaugural, executive congress held at the
Great Guidance Church
Cathedral Hall, Olosan Police Barracks, Mushin,
Lagos recently.
AK-GRAMOV, a sociopolitical and pressure group
for good governance, peace
and unity, the Lagos coordinator said is determined
to beam its search light on
general conducts of those
in leadership positions, especially on management of
resources, adding that, it is
only when the citizenry had
the political will to hold leaders accountable for their
deeds that the state, country would have the dividends of democracy.
"AK-GRAMOV, Lagos
Chapter, as part of our reformation strategies is out to
re-shape and add value to
governance, monitor
peoples' representatives,
speak the truth, ensure
unity and peaceful co-existence among the people.
"It is time that those in
leadership positions in particular must be hold accountable, beginning from
the local government level.
