to fans and supporters of the
club to stay away from the
teams' match on Saturday
against Kano Pillars.
Bassey who spoke with journalists on the sidelines of the
team's training ahead of the
crunchy encounter with the
Kano side said the match
which is a must win for the Uyo
side is to be played behind closed doors as a result of the
directive of the league management company, LMC .
Akwa United was fined a
whooping three million naira,(
#3m) for alleged assault on one
of the referees during the Akwa
United vs Wikki Tourist match
at the Nest of Champions
which the Bauchi side forced
the promise keepers to a one
all draw.
The chairman who decried
the attitude of some football stakeholders in the state
against the team reminded
them that Akwa United is the
property of the state hence the
need for every right thinking
Akwa Ibom person to support
it to win laurels for the state.
He advised security personnel attached to the stadium not
to allow those who do not have
business in the stadium on
match days to enter the stadium to avoid more sanctions
for the team by the LMC
