Paul Bassey Commends Gov Emmanuel

The special assistant to Akwa Ibom governor on sports matters and the chairman of Akwa United Football Club, Elder Paul Bassey, has said that the age cheat in the ongoing fifth edition of the National Youth Games going on now in Ilorin, Kwara State, has been drastically reduced since the introduction of the U-15 for the games.
Elder Bassey, who personally is in Ilorin to monitor the age grade games and to encourage Akwa Ibom athletes, said, so far, if this was maintained, it would go a long way to provide the sports culture of youths in the country.
He used the opportunity to sincerely commend the Akwa Ibom governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, for being one of the governors to sponsor the state athletes to participate in the fifth edition of the competition, describing him as a sports loving governor who has made sports in the state to have its right of place in the sports map of the country.
“I am personally happy with the state governor for the level he has promoted sports in the state and I hope he will not relent in his efforts in this direction.
“I equally commend the commissioner for youth and sports Sir Monday Uko, for remaining focused on sports matters in the state, “he submitted.
