PDP Chairmanship Aspirant Assures Of Democracy Dividends

A PDP chairmanship aspirant for Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area in the forthcoming local government election has said that he will make every attempt to ensure that Ibiono Ibom people enjoy the benefits of democracy if he is given the opportunity to serve.
Obong Emmanuel Udoh who gave the assurance recently in a chat with Midweek Politics said he has decided to take up this feat as past leaders of the local government area refused to do the normal thing they were supposed to do for the people.
According to him, having identified the poor roads network as the major problem of Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area currently, he will tackle the deplorable situation in the area using various approaches such as causing the immediate repair of the council grader for periodical road grading.
The chairmanship hopeful who is from Ward 8, Idoro, Ibiono Ibom, assured that since a solid foundation for the provision of electricity in all communities in Ibiono Ibom had been laid, he will ensure that electricity is provided in all communities which is yet to have a taste of it using all the connections he has.
On education, Udoh noted that as somebody who achieved a lot in education, youth and sports development when he served as a supervisor, he will promote, encourage and facilitate scholarship scheme in the area, while exceptionally brilliant students will be given scholarship to study within the country, alongside payment of bursary whenever there is fund.
He also promised to carry the youth along in most of the appointments that he will make; establish a skills acquisition centre to engage most of them; encourage them by giving them means to fish; and above all, cause most of them to have interest in education.
Udoh pledged to give attention to the health care delivery in the area by providing the basic facilities and drugs to health centres in the area, and would also do his best to appeal to the state government to establish a general hospital in the local government headquarters at the site already acquired for the purpose.
On physical development, he said the council secretariat at Oko Ita would be given a facelift by provision of perimeter fence and other basic facilities, even as a befitting motor park will be provided in the local government headquarters.
Udoh explained that his administration will collaborate with Ibiono Ibom Welfare Development Union (IWADU), as well as sons and daughters of the area who are town planners, estate valuers etc. to provide a master plan for the local government headquarters, and that the master plan will help in the development of the envisaged township at Oko Ita.
Udoh pledged to do things differently by recognizing and carrying all cultural and traditional institutions into the politics of Ibiono Ibom, adding that he will sustain, support and promote Ibiono Ibom Welfare and Development Union (IWADU) which is the main socio-political organization of the area even as he promised to give the organization the necessary support to enable them complete the IWADU HOUSE which construction plans according to him, is underway.
