More Commendations Trail Approval For Ibom Seaport


A public affairs commentator and analyst, Mr Godwini Asuquo Ukoh, has commended Governor Udom Emmanuel for securing approval by the Federal Government for the construction of Ibom Deep Seaport.

Addressing newsmen in Uyo, recently, Mr Ukoh noted with delight, efforts injected by the administration of Governor Udom Emmanuel, in actualizing the long awaited dream of having a good seaport in the state.

It can be recalled that December 2020, the Federal Executive Council gave approval for the Full Business Case of the Ibom Seaport Project.

Ukoh urged the governor and other players working to actualize the project to maintain commitment to ensure the Ibom Seaport Project metamorphoses from paper work to actual construction.

" I am sure within the tenure of His Excellency, Governor Udom Emmanuel, we'll receive the first vessel in that port. I want to give glory to God first and then commend the governor for his tireless commitment and determination to actualize this project and of course, the Federal Executive Council for this approval.

"The governor is sincere in developing the state and I can see that he is doing everything within his power to ensure holistic sectorial development and we as citizens should encourage him in a fronts.

"I can assure you that with the approval of the seaport by the Federal Government, the state is now open up for businesses.

He called on the governor to take proactive steps to secure the future of Akwa Ibom youths in the seaport project by sponsoring them for training on marine related courses which will enable them sit pretty in the sector.

The public affairs commentator also appealed to the governor to introduce courses on Logistics and Transport which includes aviation, marine and haulage in Akwa Ibom State University and ensure Akwa Ibom youths are given fair place in admission into the Maritime Academy of Nigeria.

He prayed for God to continuously give the governor wisdom and understanding to lead Akwa Ibom State to enviable height.
